Bessie Delaney piqued my interest after reading her excerpt in "Chicken Soup for the Woman's Soul." I liked her immediately and thought how wonderful it would have been to talk to her. Now I am interested in learning more about these two admirable ladies.

I just want to comment on these two extroadinary women. I was just given the book "The Delaney Sister's" by my mother-in-law and what a wonderful read it was! They were two beautiful women, not only on the outside, but on the inside as well. The book makes you realize that even though life has its ups and downs you always have your family and all the memories for a life time. New changes are not always the best! Bless you Bessie & Sadie you have put things into perspective for me. You will never be forgotten, Ever!

I really enjoyed reading about the lives of these two remarkable women. It is intresting to know that this family suceeded during a time when most blacks could barely read or write. I feel if the story about their lives was worth telling.

I have certainly enjoyed reading all of the books written by the Delany Sisters, and also learning about the struggles being raised during the early part of the 1900's. What amazes me is the fact that this family were able to overcome many obstacles, that most people during this era would only dream of. I regret that I did not learn of Bessie and Sadie until after their deaths. I would have loved to have a face to face conversation with them. Overall, I feel as if their contributions to society with the publishing of their books will serve as a great help to future generations to come. Would also enjoy any other information that you could provide concerning other family members - such as Dr. Lucious Delany or Hubert the Attorney, or how have their early careers impacted other family members or their desire to follow in their footsteps.
