In April 1999, at the suggestion of the National Council of Negro Women, thousands of Americans formed "Circles or Celebration" to view the television broadcast of the Kraft Premiere movie "Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years". These groups then shared with each other the invaluable life lessons of faith, family dignity and self-reliance that were exemplified by two remarkable women - Miss Sadie Delany and Dr. Bessie Delany.
This coming together around the film helped so many to engage in more effective dialogue, to celebrate, and to reexamine the values needed to meet the challenges that confront us in our lives.

Just before we opened the Broadway play, we were able to film the sisters at their home. At 103 and 105, they were delighted and delightful and kept up with the 20-something crew. This is a tape from that day - funny and profound, enlightening and contemplative, always honest.
